The Delusion of Freedom and Freedom in Christ

Scripture: Genesis 2:15-17

-Gen. 2:15-17, “15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
-Rom.6:16, “Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
-John 8:33-36, “33 They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin… 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

1. The first prohibition made Adam FREE and able to make choices; to choose bet. Good + Evil.
2. Freedom is a prerequisite for Love
3. Everyone is master to a servant; Peter T. Forsythe, “The first duty of every soul is to find not its freedom but its Master”.
4. King Jesus is the only perfect Master who gives us freedom under His leadership and rule
